£24,222.00 - £25,626.00 pro rata
West Yorkshire Police is seeking a diligent and organised Medical Appeals Assistant to join the Employee Relations team within the People Directorate. This role provides vital administrative support in the processing of medical appeal cases, ensuring compliance with Police and Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations.
As a Medical Appeals Assistant, you will:
Support the Medical Appeals Case Officer with case preparation, correspondence and record management
Assist with gathering evidence and conducting research
Ensure secure storage of case files and appropriate closure in line with statutory timescales and GDPR requirements
Liaise with internal departments and external contacts
Carry out self-study relative to role
Undertake any administrative function to support departmental objectives
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to review case files and produce clear reports.
Commitment to personal development and learning in role-related areas.
Experience in HR, Employee Relations, or a research-based environment (desirable).
Basic understanding of Police and Local Government Pension Regulations (desirable).
