Force Vetting Manager
Direct, innovate and ensure vetting excellence at Leicestershire Police.
As the Force Vetting Manager, you will strategically manage the vetting department, ensuring that an optimum level of service is provided to the force.
You’ll take responsibility for the vetting service provided to over 7000 people from officers and staff to our volunteers and contractors.
You’ll maintain high standards following the Vetting Code of Practice and APP, providing a thorough and rigorous process, ensuring integrity within the workforce.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing and maintaining security clearance, vetting process and associated policies and procedures.
- Identify insider threat risks, and liaise with Counter Corruption and Professional Standards to ensure a free-flowing exchange of data and intelligence
- Direct investigations and interviews of applicants, consulting with various stakeholders including Unison, the Federation and other staff support associations
The must haves
- Experience of implementing organisational and strategic planning
- Experience of managing people, including resource planning, setting standards, monitoring performance and prioritising workloads
- Ability to interpret policy and legislation relating to Vetting Code of Practice and APP
