Counter Terrorism Policing Northwest (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.

We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.

An opportunity has arisen within CTPNW CaTO for a member of Police Staff (Grade E).

The substantive role requires the applicant to hold or be willing to undergo DV vetting.

CaTO are a critical function within CTPNW and have several key responsibilities including collating information about the availability and skills / training of all personnel within CTPNW to allow for a dynamic response to both planned operations and spontaneous events.

In times of critical operational demand, CaTO negotiate with CTPNW Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the CTPNOC mobilisation desk to ensure objectives are met.

Daily, the CaTO team deal with a wide variety of enquiries (internally and externally), manage the Duty Management System and facilitate the daily Pacesetter meeting for the Command Team.

CaTO provide 24/7 on call cover to facilitate CaTO functions in time-critical scenarios. On call duties are on a rota basis and an allowance is payable.

Please send authorisation forms, with Line Manager and Superintendent/ Head of Department approval to Workforce Planning at least 3 working days before the closing date. Workforce Planning will then review eligibility.

Please be advised that following a successful application, final release will be subject to approval by the Deputy Chief Constable. HR reserve the right to withdraw any application that has not been granted approval.

Police Staff are required to relinquish their substantive post if the secondment duration is expected to be over one year. Please Officers are required to relinquish their substantive post if the secondment duration is expected to be over 6 months. Please see the secondment policy for further information.
