Job Title: External Campaigns and Marketing Manager

Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

External Campaigns and Marketing Manager

Working at the heart of an organisation of nearly 40,000 dedicated police officers and staff, our External Campaigns and Marketing Manager plays an instrumental part in delivering campaigns that build trust, change behaviours, recruit our next generation of officers and deliver a better and safer London for everyone.  You’ll be working alongside frontline officers in the heart of communities, blue lights and sirens, horses and dogs, firearms commands, forensics teams, hundreds of dedicated 999 call handlers and so many more amazing and dedicated individuals. We’d argue you won’t find a more interesting or exciting place to be a communicator. 

Our ideal candidate is someone with a keen interest in understanding audiences and building and delivering effective communication plans. We're also looking for someone who’s a strategic thinker, able to analyse and act on data and adept at building relationships and influencing outcomes in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities.  Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Work with in-house insight, media content and channels team to deliver a wide range of paid-for and no cost campaigns from start to finish to set deadlines.
  • Use data and evidence to identify target audiences, define communication objectives and build campaign strategies and plans to meet these objectives.
  • Work with the insight and data teams to evaluate the impact of your work.
  • Work closely with our digital, media and local communication teams to deliver integrated campaigns that link paid-for campaigns to owned and earned channels.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with contracted agencies, hold regular contract meetings where responsible for the contract and / or contribute to contract meetings by providing feedback to the contract owner.
  • Manage campaign budgets, providing timely and accurate data on current and projected spend.
  • Work with Commercial services to review / renew contracts where required and ensure procurement policies and regulations are adhered to.
