Communications and Engagement Assistant (Digital) - Police Staff
We’re looking for a talented and creative social media professional to join our busy and dynamic Comms Team here at Nottinghamshire Police.
We’re looking for someone with a flair for engaging with a wide range of audiences – helping us to connect with our communities and build trust and confidence through great storytelling. Your work on stories and supporting digital campaigns will help to protect the public and save lives.
We want to talk to candidates with a passion for positive and transformative communications. You will have excellent written and verbal skills – you might be a digital journalist looking for your next challenge or a social media comms specialist already working in a large, fast-paced organisation, delivering impactful and tangible change through innovative digital and social media engagement.
You will be well-organised and confident in responding to and leading social media conversations, as well as advising officers at all levels across the force on how best to connect with the communities we serve, in particular supporting the great work being done through neighbourhood policing.
This role will play a key part in driving forward our planned transformation in digital comms, so a sound understanding of managing social media, content planning and analysis of insight/evaluation and communications channel development are essential.
You will also be an inspirational team player who leads by example to develop a first-class service for the people of Nottinghamshire.
Please note this job will be based at force headquarters, but there is an expectation that the person appointed will be required sometimes to work at different locations as required, so a clean driving licence is essential.
The closing date for applications is Thursday 14 August and interviews will take place on Thursday 21 August.
If you have any questions about the role, please email Deputy Head of Corporate Communications Simon Cotton on simon.cotton@notts.police.uk.
When applying, please complete the information on the next few screens referring to the person specification and job description to indicate your suitability for the role. You can also attach a supporting statement of no more than 2000 words and your CV. Please ensure any documents you attach during your application do not have your name or any identifiable personal details included within the text or the document name, so that your application can remain anonymous.
For current Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner staff applicants, please note that Nottinghamshire Police would be a new employer. However, an agreement has been made whereby all tenure and length of service will be honoured.
Vetting Level – Management – you must have resided in the UK for at least the last 5 years
