An excellent opportunity has arisen for an administrator to assist the Fraud Prevent and Protect Police officer within our force Economic Crime Unit. This role will be based in Penrith, but with a need for travel around the force area.
.
The Fraud Protection and Prevention Administrator will play a pivotal role in supporting efforts to detect and prevent economic crime, and protect those at risk of Fraud. This role focuses on providing administrative and support to enhance fraud prevention initiatives, protect vulnerable and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
The role involves:

• Assisting the Fraud protect and Prevention Officer, by conducting in person visits to vulnerable victims to provide support and advice.
• Supporting the Fraud Protect and Prevention officer in communicating with members of the public, vulnerable victims of crime, internal departments and other professionals from external agencies, divisions and departments by phone and email.
• Acting as a point of contact between internal departments, external agencies, and the public regarding fraud-related queries.

• Facilitating communication between investigators and victims of fraud, ensuring clarity and support throughout the investigation process.
• Preparing detailed reports, identifying potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement in fraud prevention measures.
• Establishing relationships with community groups / businesses / partner agencies and assisting with organising events and fraud protect presentations.

• Attending events in the community to provide fraud prevention advice and keeping up to date with new and emerging fraud trends.
• Interrogation of police databases and research of relevant information, including local systems, data provided by Action Fraud, the National Financial Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) and the National Economic Crime Victims Care Unit (NECVCU) to assist with identifying the most vulnerable victims of Fraud within Cumbria.

The role demands attention to detail, confidence in presenting information to the public and partners, and strong communication skills.
You will be managing sensitive information, so integrity and the ability to pass and maintain vetting requirements is key.

The ideal candidate would have knowledge of fraud detection methods, prevention strategies, and relevant legislation (e.g., Fraud Act 2006, Data Protection Act), an understanding of Adult Safeguarding and experience of working in a multi-agency environment.

Any applicants would need a full driving licence as there is likely to be significant travel around the force area to attend events and visit vulnerable victims.
