Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Salary: Band F, £28,851 - £31,011. You will receive £28,851, the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £31,011 will be via incremental progression.
Location: They Hydrant Programme is based at Moss Way Police Station, Moss Way, Sheffield S20 7XX, South Yorkshire. The post holder will be expected to work a 40% (2 days) homeworking, 60% (3 days) on premise pattern each week (pro-rata for part-time working). It is important to note that you will be expected to attend Moss Way Police Station in Sheffield when working on premise.
Contract – Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2026 (with the potential for further extension subject to funding and performance).

NPCC HYDRANT PROGRAMME
The Hydrant Programme is a national policing programme supporting the work of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) Child Protection and Abuse Investigation Working Group. Originally established in 2014 to coordinate the response to non-recent child sexual abuse but now supporting forces across all child protection and abuse investigation issues. Hydrant develops policy and strategy on behalf of the NPCC, develops and delivers best practice advice including a learning, review and improvement function, provides a strategic analysis capability and partnership engagement with key stakeholders and partners.
THE ROLE
To provide an efficient and professional clerical service and administrative support to the Hydrant Programme. The post holder will be the first point of contact for the programme and must present a professional, efficient, and effective manner to maintain the image and reputation of the organisation.
The post holder will assist with the organisation and administration of meetings (including producing minutes and action schedules) , including managing room bookings and requirements (such as audio-visual, catering, printing etc). They will also provide facilities support to the Programme.

The successful candidate would need to have the following experiences and skills:
- Knowledge of customer service best practices, including handling inquiries, managing complaints, and maintaining a professional demeanour.
- Problem solving skills - To deal effectively with any administrative errors/problems that occur, seeking guidance where necessary to ensure a resolution is delivered in an effective and timely manner.
- Organisation skills - Able to adapt to changing priorities and remain calm and professional in a busy working environment. Demonstrates a flexible approach.
- IT skills - Confident with Microsoft Office 365 packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Lists, Planner, and SharePoint and basis office equipment e.g. multi-functional devices (MFD’s), printers, scanners etc.

VETTING
Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo NPPV2/RV & CTC level before taking up the post.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Occasional national travel may be required. Travel expenses will be paid if location allowance is not being received, or when travel falls outside of the home to work journey. NPCC will pay for overnight accommodation if required.
