Salary up to £39,929 per annum plus a generous benefits package
Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. We’re looking for an Estates Officer to join us at our state-of-the-art firearms training facility, Griffin Park – it’s the biggest and best of its kind in Europe!

Our Estates Officer will be involved in estates strategy, property data management, property portfolio management, facilities and workplace management, environmental sustainability, fire health and safety and maintenance management. You’ll supervise a broad range of Estates services across our property portfolio (total property spend c. £2 million). You’ll contribute to the budget development by identifying and programming essential works - ensuring value for money and providing your professional expertise in assessing work quotation and tender responses. The Estates Officer will scope, evaluate, award and manage Estates Contracts, coordinate key building leases and lead projects.

To be successful in the role you’ll display the following experience and skills:

  • Clear demonstration of FM skills in both meeting customer needs and managing supplier relationships
  • Ideally working towards a professional membership of a relevant professional organisation. (e.g. WIFM, RICS, IOSH, NEBOSH, CIPS)
  • High level management of key suppliers, handling and raising issues, and engaging in key decision making with strategic consequence
  • Understanding and following real estate and related statutory, regulatory and professional requirements
  • Influential in supporting key partners in implementation of initiatives
  • A strategic thinker understanding workplace analytics & data; translating it into insights when making decisions about the workplace
  • Experience in the development of business cases and project management methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Experience in risk identification and management
  • Ability to understand client’s business needs and be solution based in approach
  • Experience of helping to manage key stakeholders towards the delivery of an agreed scope balancing commercial performance and business strategy
  • Experience working in a property management organisation or equivalent, including experience of managing fire safety and asbestos safety management or equivalent.
  • Development and input to planned preventative maintenance schedules
  • Consistent track record on dealing with Health, Safety and Welfare matters that affects working environments, staff and services.
  • Ability to deal with estates and procurement issues relevant to the Public Sector and Government initiatives
  • Experience of successfully negotiating and managing contracts with a working understanding of contract law and Health and Safety at Work law.
  • Experience of carrying out Risk assessments and developing safe systems of work.
  • Ability to work unsupervised with self-motivation and to balance work pressures with credibility and competence.
