Fraud Protect and Prevent Officer

A Fraud Prevent and Protect officer is required to work within the Constabulary to support Fraud prevent and protect activity for victim's within Suffolk. The post holder will also work with Suffolk Trading Standards (STS), other partners, stakeholders, and businesses (including the voluntary/third sector and private industry) to develop financially motivated crime prevention and reduction initiatives.

Main activities of the role (This list is not exhaustive)

• Support the delivery of the Suffolk Anti-Fraud Partnership (SAFP) in Suffolk.

• Work with Suffolk Trading Standards (STS) to allocate, monitor use and track effectiveness of the trueCall call-blocking devices.

• Promote connectivity with Suffolk Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). Conduct joint visits with STS and other partner agencies, undertaking support interventions for those individuals identified as most vulnerable to scam and fraud detriment.

• Work with local representatives of the banking industry on specific priority cases of fraud/scams involving the most vulnerable individuals suffering the most financial abuse.

• Work with Cyber Protect Staff and STS to create resources, coordinate and strengthen links, deliver educational awareness to existing and new key partners. Thus, empowering partners to disseminate key messages around fraud prevention initiatives to relevant business and consumer communities.

• Work with STS Community Engagement Officer to create and lead on campaigns that promote shared messages – supporting victim protection and crime prevention from fraud/scams with both residents and the business community, ensuring County-wide consistency of messaging.

• Work with STS in supporting local Policing Commands to ensure that Safer Neighbourhood Team staff have the basic skills to deliver fraud and financial abuse awareness advice – including cyber-enabled crime, prevention, and reduction advice.

• Deliver talks and presentations to business, organisations, educational establishments, community groups and clubs to prevent fraud.

• Any other duties commensurate with the role and grade as may reasonably be requested by line management.
