Job Title: Leadership Academy Course Programme Lead
Salary: The starting salary is £59,839, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £56,911 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £69,342 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: Marlowe House, New Scotland Yard and potentially other locations across the MPS

Key responsibilities:
- Support the Commissioner’s commitment to annual leadership development for all leaders and champion A New Met for London across the organisation
- Lead an internal team and manage external contractors to produce high-quality leadership learning content
- Ensure programme content aligns with MPS objectives, is relevant to officers and staff, and meets national standards or licensing requirements
- Own the design and delivery of the MPS Senior Leaders Programme, a flagship initiative of the Leadership Academy
- Manage the current year’s leadership CPD offer while planning and designing the following year’s CPD programme
- Lead on Positive Action (PA) within the Academy, integrating PA into existing leadership products and initiating new PA-focused programmes where needed

Skills
Lead (providing leadership and assurance):
- Proven track record managing high-profile programmes, including stakeholder engagement, risk management, and navigating complex interdependencies
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in profiling, managing, and reporting spend
Master (operating as MPS lead):
- Strategic scanning to identify future learning needs for organisational health
- Deep understanding of how LMS, authoring tools, and multimedia software enhance learning design
Advanced (highly competent and able to train others):
- Expertise in L&D technology, tools, systems, and delivery methods
- Business engagement, programme commissioning, and continuous improvement of L&D courses
- Skilled in analysing options, supporting business change, and identifying cross-activity dependencies
- Risk assessment and escalation
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word)
Experience:
- Worked as a senior leader. Operating on peer-to-peer basis at senior level – providing guidance, insight and advice across a broad range of business-related matters.
- Strategically aware, driven, and forward-thinking, with confident communication across senior internal and external stakeholders, including the Management Board and Met leadership.
- Worked with local and national stakeholder groups.
- Managed leadership development requirements, programme design, programme commissioning, solutions delivery, and programme evaluation.
