Integrated Offender Management (IOM) Researcher

Devon and Cornwall Police has a team of police officers and researchers who reduce re-offending in individuals committing harm in the community. Individuals managed predominately commit Serious Acquisitive Crime, but the team do also flex to other crime types based on policing and community needs.  

A vacancy has arisen within the South Devon Integrated Offender Management Team (IOM) based at Bay House, a Probation Building.  The successful candidate will work with a team of Police Officers and a range of partner agencies within the South Devon area. The successful candidate would also work as part of a wider Devon and Cornwall Team and support other researchers  within the team when the need arises. 

The successful candidate will be a core member of the team and carry out activities to support the identification and management of those committing  a range of offences under the IOM Scheme.  The successful applicant will be supported into the role by shadowing / being mentored by an experienced IOM researcher and will have the opportunity to hybrid work once they have forged strong working links within the team environment.  Current hybrid working arrangements are a minimum of three days in the office per week.    

The successful candidate will need to be able to identify information from a range from a computer systems, and have good communication skills when sharing information with both team members and colleagues from other organisations.  They will need to be adaptable to change, and on occasion support work set by different departments.
