Job Title: NPCC Western Balkan Senior Police Coordinator
Salary: Band A The starting salary is £80,260 which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £77,332 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £89,320. Plus, a location allowance of £1,982 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: Remote working nationally within UK. NPCC is currently based in close proximity to St James Park underground station, London and therefore occasional travel will be required to this premise and other Police locations across the UK. Contract – Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2026 (with the potential for further extension subject to funding and performance).

NPCC SERIOUS ORGANISED CRIME TEAM
The NPCC Serious Organised Crime Team plays a crucial role in communicating the collective views and action of UK police chiefs to the public, government, and stakeholders, building and maintaining confidence in policing at the national level and supporting effective engagement with stakeholders.
THE ROLE
The role is in place to coordinate the UK policing system through the 43 national forces and the 10 Regional Organised Crime Units and in partnership with strategic leaders across the Foreign and Commonwealth Department, National Crime Agency (NCA), His Majesty’s Government (HMG) and Criminal Justice partners to better understand the strategic threat from Western Balkan organised crime and to lead, organise and deliver sustained whole system response to that threat.
The successful candidate would need to have the following experiences and skills:
- Knowledge of the development of government policy around Western Balkans (WB) Serious Organised Crime (SOC), the practical implementation of those policies in a policing context and be able to articulate the performance benefits and outcomes that will arise.
- Exceptional negotiating and influencing skills are required to enable the post holder to engage and influence UK and foreign Government Ministers, senior Government Officials, cross partnership stakeholders, through to law enforcement managers and operational staff.
- Experience of managing complex budgets, financial planning and reporting processes. A proven record of delivering against a budget, seeking and exploiting funding opportunities and minimising fluctuations against agreed levels of expenditure.
- Educated to minimum degree level or Level 7 Certificate in strategic leadership and management.

VETTING
Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) or MV and SC level before taking up the post. DV level vetting is required but can be established once in role.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Occasional national travel may be required. Travel expenses will be paid if location allowance is not being received, or when travel falls outside of the home to work journey. NPCC will pay for overnight accommodation if required.
