Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) Officer - Constable

Lincolnshire Police invite applications for Armed Response Vehicle Officers.

The ARVs are required to maintain armed support to the force in respect of general policing and to respond to demands in respect of counter terrorism. The ARVs primary role is to be responsible for the 24/7 spontaneous armed response to incidents and to carry out planned firearms operations.

In addition, the ARVs will provide a Taser response to appropriate incidents, carry out Fatal Five prevention work, assist colleagues with MOE and First Aid, attend Serious and Fatal collisions in support of Roads Policing and the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, and work with other departments on pro-active operations.

Further opportunities to develop within the department are available including Advanced and TPAC driving courses, Close Protection Officer, Tactical Rifle Officer, National Firearms Instructors (full and part time) and Operational Firearms Commander. 

These specialisms often assist with major national events and are deployed across the country.

Am I eligible?

To apply to become an ARV with Lincolnshire Police, you must be:

An Authorised Firearms Officer, currently trained to the National ARV Role Profile v Be able to pass to level 9.4 Job Related Fitness Test (JRFT)

Be able to provide a fully auditable training record endorsed by their current CFI

Be able to evidence occupational and operational competence at application and interview.

Be able to pass the necessary vetting, medical health and assessment screening.

Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.

Incentives, Terms and Conditions
