Grade W7-W8: £31,062-£35,964 (Depending on experience. You shall reach the top of this banding after several factors including passing probation and completing qualifications)
About the role
Are you a methodical thinker with investigative and analytical skills? Wiltshire Police are looking for two Financial Investigators to join our Financial and Asset Investigation Team (FAIT).
The Financial and Asset Investigation Team (FAIT) aims to ensure that crime doesn’t pay. Its primary objectives are to facilitate the forfeiture and confiscation of the proceeds of crime, and to assist in securing compensation for victims.
The FAIT also proactively supports high profile enquiries such as High-Risk missing people, plays a key role in the prevention of organised crime, and provides financial evidence in respect of many other complex crimes.
This is a very exciting role being involved in all areas of criminality where no day is the same.
What you will be doing
- Obtaining, analysing and evaluating financial information
- Applying legislation, principally the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, with a view to maximizing the potential for positive outcomes
- Supporting criminal investigations and providing specialist advice
- Compiling reports for presentation within the Force and to the Courts
- Liaising with partner agencies and the Crown Prosecution Service
About you and your experience
Whilst some knowledge and experience of financial investigation is desirable, further training and qualification to a nationally accredited standard is provided post appointment.
We are looking for hard working individuals who can go that extra mile to solve a problem. You’ll be tenacious, determined and be able to demonstrate an investigative mindset.
You must be prepared to attend either of the Courts in the county. The role is classed as Agile therefore you will have a nominated office at a police station whilst also having the option to work from home as and when appropriate.
