Gloucestershire Constabulary have an new opportunity for a senior HR professional to join us as our Head of HR Operations. Our ambition is to become an Employer of Choice, where our people are proud to come to work and where members of our community want to work for us and our HR teams play an important role in supporting this ambition. As Head of HR Operations, you will have a significant impact on the way in which we organise, support and lead our people and contribute directly through this work to service the public of Gloucestershire.

The Head of HR Operations is responsible for delivery of all operational HR services across over 2,000 police officers, police staff and volunteers. Working closely with your team, senior leaders and stakeholders you will be responsible for shaping and delivering a wide range of services covering; HR Business Partnering, HR Change, HR Policy, and generalist HR Business Support (including payroll administration). 

As a member of the senior leadership team at the Constabulary, the successful candidate will have the opportunity work directly with the Executive Board lead for HR to help shape as well as deliver the Constabulary’s approach to People.

The successful candidate will have a strong generalist HR background with experience of leading and supporting teams in a fast-paced environment. Experience of the public sector is desirable but not essential.
