Camera Safety Enquiry Officer - Police Staff
Main Purpose of Role
Families can be torn apart by the consequences of fatal and serious injury road traffic collisions, and it is the aim of the Nottinghamshire Safety Camera Partnership (NSCP) to reduce such collisions and prevent injuries to members of the public who use the roads and footways of Nottinghamshire. To achieve this, the partnership undertakes the three E’s. Engineering projects to make safety improvements to the road network, Education programs for children, other risk groups and re-educating offending drivers, and Enforcement against offending drivers, referring the same to speed awareness courses, or in more serious cases, prosecution.
The Enquiry Officer role supports this work through processing Camera Recorded Offences and issuing Notices of Intended Prosecutions to meet legislative timelines, through to the final result of either diverting the offending driver to a Speed Awareness Course, Conditional Offer or Court
The enquiry Officer also works as part of a team to provide front facing customer service liaison, answering telephone enquiries, and also may work to identify other offending behaviour, or recognize those who are vulnerable to exploitation and work with Nottinghamshire Police to safeguard such people.
The role is key to the ongoing work to reduce road casualties across the County.
