Business Delivery Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and hard-working individual to join the Business Support function within the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk (OPCCN). Applications are invited for the above post in the Governance Directorate based at the OPCCN located in Wymondham, Norfolk and working in a hybrid workplace. This is a great career opportunity to join a busy and professional office working within local government as part of a Local Policing Body.

The successful applicant will be personally responsible for managing the Police and Crime Commissioner’s (PCC) daily business and the wider Business Support function to the OPCCN. You will manage Business Support Officers who provide a proactive and comprehensive administrative support function to the PCC and the wider OPCCN team, and Project Delivery Administrators who are responsible for leading on all administrative tasks relating to the delivery of projects within the Police and Crime Plan.

Discretion and professionalism, with experience of handling confidential matters and high-level decision making.

Recognised vocational or professional qualification or substantial experience in the area of expertise.

Strong attention to detail, tenacious, resilient and ability to manage a diverse and fast-paced portfolio of work.

A proven ability to analyse and present complex and sensitive information verbally and in writing.

Excellent communication skills and an ability to successfully work with, and influencing, a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent ICT skills with advanced skills of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Microsoft 365 including Microsoft Teams. It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:

Good understanding of supporting senior leadership teams and the required service goals and priorities.

Proactive and willing to learn new skills.

Project management skills.

Knowledge of the role of the PCC and the work of the OPCCN.

Hours of work are 37 hours Monday to Friday. This post is offered on a temporary/secondment basis on a two-year fixed contract, subject to vetting and successful completion of a six-month probation period.

We work a mixture of at home and in the office based on our Modern Workplace Policy. The post holder will need to be able to operate in an environment that requires political awareness and the ability to process information of a sensitive and confidential nature.
