Evidence Management Unit & ID Unit Manager
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven professional to lead both the Evidence Management Unit (EMU) and Identification (ID) Unit. This pivotal role ensures the delivery of high-quality, accredited services to investigators across the Force, focusing on non-forensic multimedia evidence and suspect identification procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the EMU and ID Unit teams, supporting investigators and Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs) in complex investigations.
- Oversee processing and strategy for non-forensic multimedia including Body Worn Video, interview footage, and audio recordings.
- Manage identification procedures and the integrity of witness-based evidence.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and the Forensic Science Regulator’s Codes of Practice.
- Supervise team performance, development, and welfare, maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Drive innovation through the implementation of new technologies and digital tools.
- Represent the Force in regional, national, and inter-agency meetings.
- Attend court and case conferences as required.
- Maintain continuous professional development and operational awareness of legislative and technological updates.

This role involves occasional exposure to sensitive material, including indecent or extreme content, requiring annual mandatory counselling to support wellbeing.
Working hours
The working hours for this position will be Monday to Friday between the 0800 and 1600 hours.
