Disclosure Officer (Two Posts)
2 x Full time vacancies
Applications are now open for the role of Disclosure Officer within the Thames Valley Police DBS Unit.
As a Disclosure Officer, you will assess information in line with the Quality Assurance Framework, making significant autonomous decisions regarding the non-disclosure of information and submitting disclosure recommendations to line management. In addition to considering information for Enhanced DBS checks, you will serve as a point of contact for the Common Law Police Disclosure (CLPD) process, providing specialist advice to officers and relevant external organisations, and making time-critical disclosure recommendations to line management under CLPD.
You will also be required to undertake information gathering requests on behalf of the DBS Barring arm to facilitate their management of the barred lists.
No previous experience in a safeguarding role is required, as extensive training will be provided. Attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to self-motivate and work with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, act with integrity, and be open to feedback. While the majority of work is undertaken independently, the ability to work as part of a team, share workloads evenly, and collaborate to improve the service provided is highly desired.
As part of the Thames Valley Police family you will enjoy a fantastic range of benefits including 24 days annual leave per annum, pro-rata for part time (plus Bank Holidays), flexible working conditions, a wide range of lifestyle discounts, career development opportunities and have the option to join a local government pension scheme.
