Vetting level required: MV/SC or MV/DV dependent on post

Location: Within City of London

Salary: £40,190 - £46,400 + £6,710 London Allowance

Description of Department:

Specialist Operations Crime covers investigation of serious and organised crime, and Intelligence covers the covert and sensitive policing capabilities to the force.

Purpose of the Role:

Experienced Senior Analysts with a background in SOC or CT are required to manage the intelligence products and teams of officers and staff. Two posts are available within different areas and successful applicants will be posted to the most suitable role.

Key attributes:

  1. Dynamic and experienced supervisor
  2. Recent experience within an analytical role.
  3. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) and associated processes e.g. Government Protective Marking Scheme (GPMS), Data Protection Act (DPA), Management of Police Information (MoPI).
  4. Working knowledge of crime trends and threats affecting the UK.

Key accountabilities

  1. Excellent knowledge of policy and procedure in crime recording, investigation, and intelligence.
  2. Excellent knowledge of policy and procedure in intelligence practices in particular disclosure and the handling of sensitive materials.
  3. Set and maintain standard for quality intelligence support to investigation teams.

Essential Criteria – including the behaviours that will be tested at application/interview:

  • Previous experience of working within the SIU or SOC / CT Intelligence role within a law enforcement or associated agency at a tactical, operational and strategic level.
  • Proven, recent supervisory experience in managing diverse and dynamic teams
  • Working with public and private sector partnerships.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and bring departments together
  • Ability to produce accurate reports and plans.
  • Knowledge of RIPA and Part 3 Police Act authorities
  • Be willing to attend any residential and non-residential courses and maintain Continued Professional Development
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) as Senior Analyst
  • Any offer of employment is dependent on successfully obtaining vetting prior to employment and satisfactory completion of a probationary period
