Location: Netley (This role is mainly office based but there is an element of hybrid working)

 

Salary: SO1 - £35,526 - £37,692 per annum

 

Hours: 37 hours per week (includes weekend rota of 1:11) plus emergency callout rota

 

Contract: Permanent

 

Closing Date: Sunday 6th July 2025 at 23.59 hours

 

Are you looking for a new and exciting role supporting Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary to deliver events, plans and operations?

 

If so this could be the role for you

 

We are looking for someone to join our busy Operational Planning team at Netley where we plan the policing requirements for events such as music festivals, sporting events and the mobilisation of officers in response to both planned and unforeseen situations.

 

The role you involves reviewing event and action plans, attending planning meetings and establishing the policing plans for events, as well as supporting the command team to respond to critical and major incidents.

 

Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • To provide support in relation to critical and major incidents, operational support and contingency planning procedures.

 

  • To undertake the planning of force operations, spontaneous events and Mutual Aid in accordance with national guidance.

 

  • Provide necessary assistance and support to police resources to ensure the smooth running at larger force operations and events.

 

  • To liaise with partner agencies i.e. other emergency services, local authorities and event organisers, in delivery of the above. 

 

  • To effectively coordinate and maintain operational budgets including a thorough understanding of charging for police services.

 

  • To review Force Action Plans making amendments where necessary, this may involve liaising with partner agencies to seek the appropriate information.

 

 

If you have a knowledge of the police organisation and structure, Public Order and Public Safety processes and contingency planning this would be an advantage but full training will be given.

 

This role does include an element of manual handling.

Essential Qualifications

Educated to QCF Level 3 OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

Able to demonstrate current competence in subject matter area.
