Job description
We look forward to reading your application for the role of Command Training Lead - MAGIC
The selected candidate will work in partnership to provide or enable support to those working in policing, through setting standards, sharing knowledge and good practice and supporting professional development.
They will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of command training and development programmes, supervising students and, where appropriate, associate trainers to ensure that learning objectives are met to course specifications and agreed quality standards.
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering training programmes to agreed content and assessment specifications, developing and adapting teaching techniques, lesson plans, scenarios and training materials to meet individual students learning needs to ensure that all students receive a consistent, high quality training intervention.
- Reviewing and revising training packages to address changes to the curriculum, professional practice, guidance, standards and/or feedback from quality assurance data trends, ensuring an inclusive and psychologically safe learning environment. Maintaining a version control log to ensure that learning programmes are always accurate, up-to-date, and inclusive, and that definitive records of revisions are maintained.
- Researching and refreshing own subject matter expertise and trainer skills and work with internal and external stakeholders to share knowledge, help identify innovative solutions and draft and develop evidence-based policing standards, guidance and associated curriculum specifications and learning interventions to support the promotion and embedding of consistent approaches to professional practice across policing.
To be successful in this role youll need:
- Current operational accreditation as a MAGIC Commander in accordance with requirements set by the College of Policing and/or the NPCC Lead.
- Gold Command experience in MAGIC
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act, Emergency Response and Recovery guidance

Qualifications
2) Experienced and current Assessor competent to the Police Sector Standard for the Training of Assessors or be prepared to achieve an assessor standard within 12 months if applicable.
