Intelligence Analyst - High Harm Desk
The role will support a newly created desk to focus on reducing threat, harm and risk across Devon and Cornwall, linked to serious violence prevention. There is particular focus on High Harm Perpetrators linked to VAWG (violence against women and girls). It's an exciting opportunity to work with various stakeholders, newly developed analytical methodologies and support both strategic and operational analysis linked to the threat.
Principal Responsibility
Conduct operational analysis at a strategic and tactical level, to identify, understand and articulate threats, to influence decision making, working to the standards as defined within the National Intelligence Model. In particular:
- Working closely with the Senior Analyst, the Senior Investigating Officer and/or key stakeholders to negotiate and develop Terms of References.
- Providing intelligence and evidential analysis to Major Crime teams, Serious & Organised Crime teams, Public Protection, local Policing teams and partnership groups.
- Conducting analysis using the ten standard analytical techniques and methodology, developing inferences, testing hypotheses, identifying intelligence gaps and making recommendations.
- Communicating findings through recognised analytical products, to assist decision making at a strategic, tactical and operational level.
- Maintaining a current knowledge of the local, regional and national threat picture from Serious & Organised Crime and other Vulnerability & Exploitation issues. Maintaining a current knowledge of Force and national Policing priorities.
The postholder will be required to achieve a role specific IPP accreditation within 24 months from the date of commencement in the role.
