Description of Department: It is an exciting time to join the Finance team. The team is being developed to provide an exceptional Finance service supporting and enabling front line policing. This includes supporting transformational change, driving commercial opportunities and building strong relationships across the Force and with our partners.
Purpose of the Role: You will support the finance business partnering team in the provision of excellent financial advice and support to the Force. This includes assisting Directorates in all areas such as budgeting, financial control, closing of accounts, maintenance of accounting systems, cash handling, the administration of third party funds, and financial advice to services. You will play an essential role in strengthening the quality and flow of information between the Finance team and service area and provides a great opportunity for development within finance business partnering.
As well as a strong grounding in financial services, candidates will have an ethos of continuous improvement to support ongoing development of the service, the team and the Force. A background in public sector finance would be an advantage. This is a real opportunity to guide future direction and make a real difference.
The role is offered as a career grade with appointment and salary progression dependent on fulfilling the career grade criteria contained in the Job Description and Person Specification for this role.
The application and interview will be tested under Level 1 for Grade C and Level 2 for Grade D of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
