Forensic Support Apprentice
For the first time, SPA Forensic Services are delighted to launch a new ground-breaking opportunity with the introduction of a modern apprenticeship pathway to Forensic Services.
This opportunity will allow us to meet key objectives including: developing a skilled workforce, promoting Diversity and Inclusion, providing greater opportunities, and improving organisational resilience.
Modern Apprenticeships offer structured training programmes that combine work experience with college or university learning. This usually includes a Scottish Vocational Qualification and also involves additional study and on-the-job training.
For this role, the eligibility requirements from our college partners are Highers at C or above in Biology and Chemistry in addition to Nat 5 qualifications at B or above in Maths, English, Biology and Chemistry. One successful candidate will be enrolled to Glasgow Clyde College and one successful candidate will be enrolled to Dundee & Angus College with the expectation of college based learning one day per week and office based working for the remainder.
The ‘Forensic Support Apprentice’ will be a welcomed addition to the Forensic Support Officer cadre, who offers scientific and administrative support across the Search and Recovery, Analysis, and Reporting functions. This support not only spans the functions of Forensic Services but also the vast variety of scientific disciplines.
This vacancy is Full Time and Fixed Term for the Apprenticeship which spans 2 years.

For eligible roles this can mean that a proportion of the working week can be worked routinely from home, through discussion and agreement with your line manager.
