Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: We want to provide you with the flexibility to balance a rewarding career with home-life and personal wellbeing. You should expect a hybrid working pattern, including three days working out of one of our base location - New Scotland Yard / West Hampstead Police Station and / or working alongside your team in other Met locations when needed. The remaining two days you will have the flexibility to work in a hybrid way, including working from home. However, individuals must remain flexible on individual agile working arrangements so that you are available to attend a specific work location when there is a business need to do so.
The Team:
The Strategic Planning and Risk team sits at the heart of the Met and is responsible for developing a clear strategy for the Met and helping to solve the Met’s strategic problems. This involves ensuring all parts of the organisation pull in the same direction and understand their long-term priorities. The team is also responsible for proactively identifying and managing strategic and corporate risks and leading the Met’s corporate assurance function.
The Role:
As a Planning Manager, you will:
- Support the development of core elements of the Met’s organisational strategy and business plan, carrying out horizon-scanning and consolidating insights.
- Play an important role in running an effective strategic business planning process.
- Undertake engagement across the Met, partnering with business groups to develop the business plan, making sure it’s both strategically aligned and grounded in the realities of the frontline.
- Build strong links between the centre of the organisation and the Met’s frontline, understanding what they do and the challenges they face.
- Work with key strategic partners including MOPAC, the Home Office, College of Policing, NPCC and the NCA to align business plans where appropriate, driving efficiency and removing duplication.
- Support the development of strategic reporting on progress against the strategy and business plan, using governance.
