We are proud to announce that we are currently recruiting for a Planning and Resource Management Officer to join North Yorkshire Police in our Force Control Room (FCR) at Fulford Road Police Station
Our teams in the FCR are the first point of contact for over 1000 emergency and non-emergency phone calls every single day, and we need to ensure that we have the right resources and operational cover in place to allow us to handle the volume efficiently and effectively.
You will provide a high-quality Resource Management service to the FCR by managing and preparing advanced duties, to make sure we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time. Your role is vital in enabling us to provide an excellent level of service to the Public of North Yorkshire, and the City of York
As a Planning and Resource Management Officer, you will:
· Prepare advanced duties for FCR staff for a 12- month period in accordance with Police Regulations and the Working Time Directive (WTD), Police Staff Council Handbook and other similar Force and external legislation.
· Using bespoke IT applications, produce operational workforce schedules for FCR staff to ensure that FCR teams have highly detailed work schedules showing all activities on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
· Work alongside the Customer Contact Management and Operations Planning team to ensure appropriate cover.
· Forecast demand by matching staffing to meet target Service Level Agreements for 999 and Non- emergency calls and be able to predict service levels and predicted call abandonment rates and feedback accordingly.
· Conduct scenario planning activities to consider the impact of operational change before it is implemented and escalate to senior managers
· Conduct regular reconciliation activities to ensure data is consistent and accurate across multiple systems.
· Monitor and feedback to supervision on annual leave, time off in lieu, and other absences to ensure an appropriate level of cover whilst assessing the impact of short notice leave and flexible working requests

To be successful in the role, you will:
· Demonstrate excellent IT Skills, including the use of Microsoft M365
· Have experience in a planning and organisational role utilising computer systems
· Be an excellent communicator with the ability to convey and present to all levels within the organisation
· Be able to use evidence-based decision making and problem-solving techniques to generate solutions that improve services.
· Have excellent time management and organisational skills
