Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.
We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.
The successful candidate will work within the CTPNW Investigations Department based at GMP FHQ, reporting to the D/Supt - Head of Investigations. The role will primarily involve leading investigations in both the covert and overt space, acting directly as SIO where required and maintaining oversight of other investigations. The role will involve working on occasion in collaboration with other CTP regions across the national network, and with security service partners to manage risks to national security.
Appointable candidates will be substantive Detective Chief Inspectors with experience of leading serious and complex investigations. Existing pip3 (SIO Major Crime / SOC) qualifications are desirable but not essential. Successful candidates will complete the pip3 SOC accreditation whilst in role, along with attending the national CTSIO course, and CT legislation course.
There will also be the potential to be involved in other thematic areas of work relevant to the CTSIO role, such as Carbon Blue (CT K&E), Special Forces liaison and Crown Dependencies liaison.
The successful candidate will undertake the Developed Vetting (DV) process prior to appointment in role.
