Humberside Police are looking for a highly motivated individual to join them in their busy Force Control Room.
The Force Control Room Trainer will work within the support team and will be responsible for the design and delivery of various programmes required by the force whilst delivering training advice and guidance to all stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a background in teaching and delivering to small and large groups of people and be able to look after their welfare and be responsible for their supervision whilst in training.
One of the main responsibilities of the FCR Trainer will be to carry out training to new recruits who are joining the force as 101/999 Call handlers who will be working in our state-of-the-art purpose-built control rooms as well as existing employees.
On average our Force Control Room takes 13000 999 calls and 25000 101 calls so the role of FCR Trainer plays a vital role in making sure all training is relevant and current.

Key Responsibilities:
- To research, design, develop and deliver high quality and complex training programmes on a range of current and future computer systems and their subsequent version revisions such as: - Smart Contact, Niche, PND, PNC, Airwave, Origin, Call Handler Software, FCR initial and step up training.
- Proactively liaise with Information Services department and programme leads to keep informed of changes to software developments and force networks as well as ongoing organisational processes.
- Complete assessments on the abilities of individual students as required and provide relevant feedback.
- Answer and process telephone queries relating to relevant Information Services programmes and use within the force, including benchmarking requests from both internal and external sources.
- Support other Learning & Development teams in identified, appropriate delivery.
- Work with staff during training periods to offer support, further guidance and to hold progress meetings with these individuals.
- To be able to assess a student’s needs and deliver the appropriate training to obtain positive development.
What the role requires:
- Experience working in a confidential environment.
- Holds a teaching or training qualification at Level 4 or above or equivalent (or is willing to work towards)
- Experience in teaching or training in an adult learning environment
- Previous experience of training course design, planning and evaluation
- Presentation skills can adapt style/manner of presentation to suit the audience.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise multiple activities, escalating as and when appropriate.
- Computer literacy/keyboard skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision when required.
- Carries out tasks in an accurate and methodical manner with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
