Job Title: Lead Performance Analyst

Salary: The starting salary is £59,839, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £56,911 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £69,342 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: Lambeth, Sidcup, Westminster

 

Performance & Insight:

The performance function within Met Operations has the remit of delivering Performance and Insight across the MPS. The unit reports to the Director of Performance, Tasking & Insight, delivering analytical support across the organisation; in support of the New Met for London strategy and Management Board commitment to make the MPS a data driven organisation.

The Performance & Insight team currently covers the following areas:

  • Community Focus (Basic Command Unit level) analytical support
  • Victim & Vulnerability (Public Protection, VAWG and Victims) analytical support
  • Serious Organised Crime (Specialist Crime) analytical Support
  • Strategic Performance Management (Corporate Governance) analytical support
  • Demand Resourcing analytical support

As a Band B Lead Analyst in the Performance & Insight team, you will work with the Band C Senior Analyst to develop and implement approaches and frameworks that underpin and enable the organisation to understand its performance, identifying emerging risks and opportunities.

Your team will provide relevant, high quality, insightful analysis to support delivery of the MPS Performance Framework, steer organisational direction, inform decision making at all levels, provide assurance and drive continuous improvement with a clear evidence base.

As the Lead Analyst you will work to the Head of Performance who has accountability for creating a service improvement framework and ensuring emerging best practice and initiatives are embedded effectively across the MPS.

In this Role you will:

  • Assist, take forward and influence performance analysis across the MPS, as determined by the Head of Performance
  • Support delivery of the performance management ecosystem across the MPS, including performance implementation and architecture
  • Remove blockers and act as an escalation point for important issues
  • Be an ambassador for performance and analytics across the MPS
  • Develop, track and report on Key Performance Indicators that hold the organisation to account against its strategic and tactical objectives, as identified within New Met for London
  • Be responsible for reporting on the accuracy and quality of data and performance, and setting standards on how performance and insights are used
  • Proactively share knowledge and promote a data-driven culture
  • Coach and mentor performance analysts (Cs & Ds) across the MPS
  • Utilise stakeholder engagement working with senior leaders across the MPS in developing and supporting performance conversations
  • Work alongside other performance and analytical functions to develop horizon scanning and insight to inform decision-making
  • Oversee delivery of products that help the organisation understand its performance challenges, risks and threats to support delivery against More Trust, Less Crime, High Standards
