We have an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join our team to help maintain our Fleet of 600 Police Vehicles, ensuring North Wales Police officers and staff are operating and traveling safely within their vehicles.
Being a part of North Wales Police fleet team, you will work in our state-of-the-art purpose-built workshop with the latest equipment, tooling and diagnostic equipment. All workshop hand tools are supplied by North Wales Police and vehicle manufacturer and specialist equipment training is provided.
You will be based at Fleet Workshop, Unit 34, St Asaph Business Park. Typically working between 08:00 and 16:00 from Monday to Friday with no weekend or shift work expected. The flexi-time working scheme offers a healthy work life balance opportunity.

What does the Vehicle Fleet Technician role entail?
Working within our Fleet department you will be responsible for service, repair and maintaining Force vehicles in accordance with manufacturers standards and to procedures and Policies outlined by the Fleet Manager.
This will include diagnose vehicle and vehicle equipment faults, determine appropriate solutions to rectify and provide a call out service to respond and attend to those faults at various Police Stations across North Wales.

What do I need for the role of Vehicle Fleet Technician?
- Level 3 or Diploma qualification in a vehicle technology related subject and/or minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in this field.
- Minimum of five years practical experience as motor vehicle technician, including the use of diagnostic equipment.
- A strong understanding of modern vehicle systems and components, with a keen interest to develop and understand new technology as it’s introduced.
- Self-motivated, innovative in problem solving, proactive in meeting the various challenges the role will present and have the desire to ensure all repairs and maintenance meets safety standards
- The post holder will be required to drive force vehicles, therefore must possess a driving licence.
