Location: Guildhall Yard East - hybrid role

This role is open to all Police Staff / external candidates who meet the essential criteria of the person spec, regardless of current grade.

About the team

This team will be a national team and part of the NPCC Financial Crime Portfolio. To establish a 4P response from policing in relation to all money laundering including volume and complex networks. The teams will increase knowledge and prevention of money laundering through the integration of data sets including NFIB, UK Finance and Cifas. To increase detection and disruption of money laundering through dissemination of intelligence packages into Law Enforcement.

This team will be focused on UK based activity. This is a new team and will require new processes to be delivered.

About the role

In line with ECD requirements the Senior Analyst will be responsible for the coordination of intelligence products and supporting the professional development of ECD Researchers and Analysts.

This is achieved through leading teams of Analysts and Researchers to obtain and develop information/intelligence/crime in support of reporting and national intelligence priorities.

Initial focus will be in developing a national policing 4P approach to dealing with Money Mules and thereafter the reporting of intelligence to Regional Organised Crime Units and police forces for Money Laundering outcomes.

The postholder will work alongside the National Lead Force leadership team and CoLP Intelligence Leadership, taking on a number of responsibilities to support Intelligence Researcher and Analysis profession within the current NLF intelligence function.

The postholder will lead on the professional development of the Intelligence staff they manage, ensuring consistently high standards in terms of quality of intelligence products produced and disseminated from the AMLAR IDT, NLF Intelligence functions and City of London Police.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be:

  • In line with Strategic AMLAR Intelligence Development Team requirements, supervise the collection, collation, evaluation, analysis and dissemination of information from a variety of internal and external sources. Coordinate the production of high-quality research and analysis, contributing to the development of intelligence products at a strategic and tactical level.
  • Responsible for the professional development of staff under their supervision.Supervise and/or assist with the development of intelligence/crime networks utilising specifically designed software package.
  • Work with Law Enforcement Agencies and Industry Partners in the UK and Internationally.
  • Review the effectiveness of research and analysis conducted by the Strategic AMLAR Intelligence Development Team.
  • Maybe required to attend court to give evidence. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role and grade as may reasonably be requested by line management.

Requirements

For this role, we need you to have experience of:

  • Previous experience of working as an intelligence Analyst within a law enforcement or associated agency at a tactical, operational and strategic level.
  • Experience in database management and recording/managing information and intelligence.
  • Supervisory, leadership or mentoring experience
  • Working with Public and Private sector partnerships
