We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as an Intelligence Officer in our Public Service Centre. Could you be who we are looking for?

About the team/Department you will be joining:

  • You will work as part of a team of Intelligence Officers based within the Public Service Centre at Police Headquarters, Bridgend.
  • We work closely with colleagues across South Wales Police to support ongoing live incidents  
  • We receive intelligence from partner agencies, process and disseminate relevant information to teams across South Wales Police.
  • We utilise various intelligence tools to assist in identifying and locating suspects and vehicles.
  • Our team operate 24/7, 365 day intelligence support generally aligned with existing response shift patterns
  • Provide live support to Force Incident Managers during critical and high-risk incidents

 

About the role and your key responsibilities :

  • To pro-actively work under pressure supporting colleagues and officers with live incidents.
  • To provide accurate, documented information and provide advice on legislation to Gold Commanders.
  • Prioritising a very demanding workload
  • Managing key tasks in an efficient and effective manner, to support the smooth running of PSC

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

  • Successful candidates must be vetted to MV/SC level
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be willing to attend and pass Communication Data investigator course 
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the force area to regarding local crime issues and have a cognisance of criminal activity in neighbouring force areas
  • Must have up to date knowledge of legislation and procedures

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MVSC Vetting.
