As an ICT Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our ICT infrastructure and providing technical assistance to our staff. The role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Fabric & Telephony Systems Analyst

to join our dynamic IT team. In this role you will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the network fabric & telephony infrastructure. The ICT Network Fabric & Telephony Systems Analyst will provide the technical resources necessary to support business continuity for a 24/7 emergency policing service and its external partners.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with the design of the network fabric architecture across multiple SWP sites
  • To assist with the Network Fabric installation across many SWP sites
  • Carry out structured network cabling as required
  • Manage third party companies and contractors installing structured cabling and network circuits
  • To provide support to our Assistant engineers
  • Troubleshoot problems with cable systems / hardware
  • Assist Telephony specialist with managing and troubleshooting VOIP/PBX telephony systems

 

Requirements:

 

  • Must possess a relevant degree or other significant ICT related qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities in network fabric and telephony
  • Must have experience of network fabric and telephony architecture, including design, installation and managing on-premise network infrastructure.
  • Must have proven skills of structured network cabling planning and design
  • Must have excellent practical knowledge of structured cabling system commissioning.
  • Must have extensive field cabling skill with a proven ability in the installation, termination and testing of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A structured cabling, telephone cabling and fibre optic cabling and cable pathways.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of planning and prepare for installation by reading and interpreting job reference material through performing site surveys, selecting/verifying cable pathways/spaces and performing trade calculations
  • Knowledge of HSE Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Proven technical experience in supporting structured cabling design & installations for large scale building projects.
  • Application of enhanced security standards for network, telephony and cabling solutions.
  • Troubleshoot cable systems/hardware by identifying and repairing UTP/STP/ScTP, coaxial cable systems, equipment connecting cables and fibre optic systems.
  • Worked with suppliers to survey, agree and oversee circuit installation work.
  • Supported enterprise scale networks and telephony systems.
  • Line management experience
