We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a System Development Officer in our Digital Service Division. Could you be who we are looking for? 

About the team/Department you will be joining: 

The Digital Services Division (DSD) serves both Gwent Police and South Wales Police improving services through the application of technology. The team is responsible for making the process of policing more efficient and effective through the use of digital technology. 

About the role and your key responsibilities : 

The Operational Systems team within DSD, undertakes Project, development, and support activities in relation to core operational policing systems, such as Niche Records Management System, Command & Control/Control Room Systems, Digital Evidence Management Systems (DEMS), Telematics and national policing systems ensuring that maintenance and continuous improvement is undertaken in order to keep these critical systems up to date with the changing policing and technological landscape.

You will be required to work with internal and external partners, project and business leads to develop and implement operational policing systems, and promote best practice, focussing on meeting business and customer requirements in accordance with legislative, technical, and corporate guidance ensuring an efficient and effective service to our communities.

 What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role: 

  • Experience of managing stakeholders.
  • Experience of developing digital solutions.
  • Experience of technological development.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
