Humberside Police are looking for a highly motivated individual to join them in their busy People Services Department.

The role will require the post holder to provide an efficient, consistent and high-quality administrative support to all transactional HR processes.

As a People Administrator, you will undertake a broad range of HR Administrative duties covering all aspects of the employee life cycle, which is consistent and legally compliant in support of Humberside police’s people strategy whilst providing a responsive and customer focused advice and guidance service to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides a high-quality customer service to managers and employees within a flexible, customer focussed and professional first line framework to providing advice and guidance on all enquiries to include face to face contact, telephone and/or email, taking ownership of achieving a satisfactory resolution and escalating where appropriate.
  • Provides support to managers in relation to sickness and performance queries, including answering calls, chasing sickness, and escalating key cases as and when required.
  • Maintains and updates HR database systems, ensuring accurate and proper record-keeping of employee information in electronic and digital format.

 Taking ownership of data quality and integrity of information when inputting, amending and extracting information and ensuring compliance with GDPR.

  • Produces management information and key performance data to inform continual improvements as well as to support the People Partnering team with driving forward people issues.
  • Assists with planning and co-ordinating events e.g., contacting speakers, arranging venues and travel/accommodation requests.
  • Has the ability to recognise when matters should be referred to a more senior officer.
  • Is a point of contact for HR policy and process related queries, including management of the Policy SPOC and responding to and co-ordinating benchmarking requests.

 

What the role requires:

  • Experience of maintaining databases and researching data from computerised recording systems.
  • Working towards CIPD level 3 qualification or has equivalent experience.
  • Experience of providing first line advice and guidance.
  • Experience working in a confidential environment.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise multiple activities, escalating as and when appropriate.
  • Computer literacy/keyboard skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision when required.
  • Carries out tasks in an accurate and methodical manner with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
