An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time permanent role, however part time hours will be considered for a Business Services Assistant (Geographic) based at Folkestone Police Station.

 

This is a challenging role in a continuous improvement environment; it is essential that candidates are able to evidence their openness to change and skills in providing a high standard of service delivery.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a customer focused role assisting with enquiries relating to administrative matters. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of customers, understanding their needs, providing first contact problem resolution and sign-posting customers to other corporate services as required.

 

The role is part of a team providing important support to operational colleagues and staff across multiple locations; the ability to work collaboratively with team colleagues and customers is essential.

 

You will be responsible for ensuring that requisitions are raised, and stock levels maintained for a number of operational sites across a geographical area in order to provide our teams with the equipment and supplies they require to fulfill their duties. Therefore, you will need to evidence the ability to make decisions in line with policy and in keeping with standard procedures.

 

The Geographic Services Administration teams are responsible for maintaining key products for the delivery of operational Policing, including safekeeping of communications equipment, distribution of uniform orders, collation of cast clothing, locker inventories, provision of stationery and distribution of local mail.

 

In addition to maintaining the stock levels of key assets you will also be required to manage inventories for essential items which are issued to our teams, updating centrally controlled databases and providing ad-hoc audits to confirm compliance.

 

This role requires the adoption of centrally agreed and locally delivered processes; previous experience of using Microsoft Office applications would be advantageours for successful delivery in this role, along with some knowledge of the Police environment and policy.

 

This role will be based at a Geographical Admin Hub but travel to other sites will also be required, as and when business needs require.

Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £24,768.00.
