Transferee & Re-Joiner Police Officers July 2025

“Being part of Northumbria Police will mean you’re part of a family that looks after and supports each other. We are all about keeping people safe and fighting crime, and if that’s something you can be a part of we’d be delighted to receive your application.”

Are you ready for a new challenge? Northumbria Police is currently accepting applications for our Police Officer Transferees and Re-joiners Recruitment Programme. We are particularly interested in candidates from the following backgrounds:

  • Detective Constable Qualified (PIP2)
  • Substantive Sergeant Rank
  • Neighbourhood Policing background or willingness to work in this area
  • Any other specialist skills

Ahead of applying you can find out more about the application process and entry requirements, our benefits, salary and answers to FAQ’s via our careers site. If you apply during this campaign, you can expect a start date of 28 July 2025 and we will work with you to determine which date you're aligned to during your application process.

Important Note: No start date is guaranteed. The July 2025 start date is an aim, but confirmation is contingent on successfully completing all stages of the application process. If you are unable to start in July, you will progress towards the next available intake.

If successful your posting will primarily be based on force demand, and your skill set. Following the completion of your pre-employment checks, we will approach you to identify your skill set and areas of interest, and match this against Northumbria’s current vacancies.
