Communications Exploitation Engineer x 2 - Technical Development Unit (SEROCU)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Exploitation Engineer to join the Technical Development Unit (TDU) within SEROCU.
You will be working as part of a team using your radio frequency (RF) communications knowledge and experience. Working closely with a variety of operational teams, this is an opportunity to use your specialist skills and initiative to ensure the success of some of the South East’s most serious operations.
Due to the nature of the role and the operations we support you will often be required to work anti-social hours, sometimes at short notice. Because of this you will be required to have a practical and flexible approach and attitude. As well as a willingness to deploy on operations at short notice, you will also join an on-call rota to provide 24/7 support. You will be required to work protracted hours in challenging and high-pressure situations across the South East, and potentially anywhere in the UK, providing a critical service to policing.
You will be required to travel for business purposes across the South East and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC, together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
You can find more information about security vetting here.
