We are welcoming applications for the role of Commissioning Officer (OPCC) with Devon & Cornwall OPCC Police based at the following location(s): Andy Hocking House, Exeter 

Salary: Grade 9 - Starts at £48,894 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £53,688 per annum 
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon and Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.

Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker -  Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.
Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.
Allowances: This role attracts no allowances.
About the role:  

Commissioning Officer  

Are you looking for an exciting partnership driven role working to improve services for the people of Devon and Cornwall? The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) commissions services across Devon and Cornwall to support the prevention & reduction of crime and help victims to cope and recover from the harm they have suffered. 

This role will work with stakeholders across policing and criminal justice, working with the private, public and community and voluntary sectors to ensure effective partnerships to deliver the aims of the Police and Crime Plan. 

Commissioning is a very important function of the office which looks to intelligence and analysis of need to identify, design and deliver services, achieve outcomes and inform changes required for future provision. The role will require you to have commissioning experience and a genuine interest in working in a policing and criminal justice setting. It will require excellent communication skills to develop and maintain partnership relationships, experience of contract management and procurement, strong analytical skills and a trauma informed approach. Knowledge of victim support services such as the independent sexual violence advisors and domestic abuse services is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for someone with commissioning experience who is strategically minded, with high levels of attention to detail and the ability to deliver under pressure.

Selection Stage: 

The selection for this role will consist of Shortlisting, Interview and Assessment .

Applications will be anonymised and then shortlisted by the shortlisting panel. Following the shortlisting you will be notified of the recruitment decision via email along with feedback on your application. 

If successful, you will then be invited to an interview. This will be based on the behaviours outlined within the role profile. The interview process is due to take place week commencing .

Some roles may also require an assessment and / or fitness test. Further information on this will be provided following the shortlisting process. The assessment and / or fitness test date will be 24 March 2025 and  if applicable, otherwise N/A.

Pre-requisites:
