We are seeking a suitably skilled and motivated individual to join the Digital Imaging Unit, which provides imaging services across Kent and Essex from the single site location of Coldharbour, Kent.
The unit offers a range of specialist imaging services to support criminal investigations and assist in the presentation of often complex and distressing material at court. These include digital representations of crime scenes, and injuries to deceased persons, utilising 3D Graphic applications to produce outcomes (known as body mapping).
The main responsibilities of your role will be to monitor the job requests from officers via Case management systems or email and the processing of CSI imagery into PDF formats, sharing evidence with internal & external partners via sharing platforms. You will be required to collate and print Jury Bundles for Court, undertaking a range of general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the Unit while also ensuring the maintenance and consumable stock levels of the printer, for which training will be provided.
A high degree of personal resilience is required in respect of the graphic nature of the imagery the team process.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Adobe products and excellent keyboard skills are essential.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, are required to deal effectively with all ranks and grades of officers and staff and a range of external stakeholders. You must be extremely organised and precise, and highly motivated, working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple demands to ensure the requirements of the criminal justice system are achieved.
Previous photography / digital imaging / 3D graphic experience within or outside of law enforcement would be an advantage, as would experience in the use of Athena or relevant case management systems.
The potential post holder must be reliable, be able to demonstrate flexibility and initiative and cope with conflicting demands in a busy and varied working environment. Accuracy and attention to detail are key qualities necessary for the role. Due to the highly sensitive and confidential nature of much of the work, the post holder must always demonstrate a high degree of integrity and discretion.
