ERSOU CTP Borders Luton Airport PC/DC

The opportunity has arisen to join a team at Luton Airport providing border policing services and gathering intelligence relating to Counter Terrorism, Left-Wing, Anarchist and Single-Issue Terrorism (LASIT) and other associated ERSOU-CTP matters across the Eastern region. Applications are invited from Constables (who have had their probation confirmed) for vacancies at Luton Airport in Bedfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Counter Terrorism Border Policing team within the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) CT Policing command.

ERSOU Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) covers the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk with Bedfordshire Police as the lead force.

Counter Terrorism Policing Borders are at the front line of protecting national security from the threats posed by terrorism at UK borders and ports. Borders officers manage the threats posed by individuals and groups seeking to travel across borders in furtherance of terrorism. The position involves close liaison with port agencies and foreign law enforcement bodies and the monitoring of passenger movements. The primary objective of this role is the gathering of counter terrorism intelligence.

The normal place of duty for this post will be the port applied for. Successful applicants will be seconded to Bedfordshire for command and control purposes and thus may be deployed regionally.
