Location: Netley 

 

Salary: PO1, £40,893 - £43,920 per annum 

 

Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role

 

To manage the bar facility at the Southern Support & Training HQ in accordance with licensing laws, providing a quality service for Force events and hired functions in order to maximise the use of the site as a corporate business and social centre.

 

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to; 

 

1. To hold the Justice’s on-license for the bar facility, also ensuring that the Employers’ Liability and Public Performing Licences are current and renewed when necessary, representing the Force in court as and when necessary for license applications, and consulting the local district and parish councils in respect of same.

2. To pro-actively assist the Functions Coordinator in arranging events, both in-Force and private, and to be the Force’s representative at such events, and to help identify business and income generating opportunities.

3. To provide at all times an appropriate, adequate and quality supply of goods for Force events and functions, ensuring that all stock is stored and used correctly and safely in line with environmental and health and safety policies.

4. To be responsible for a range of financial activities, including, but not limited to:

     monitoring the budget for bar purchases and arranging for the payment of goods and services

      arranging for regular and independent stock-takes and assisting with same, maintaining records of ullage (waste) and outstanding bar tabs and invoices

     pricing stock, and re-pricing as necessary in line with taxation changes

     checking all safes and cash handling procedures in accordance with audit and local procedures, and preparing the banking paperwork for the Business & Finance Officer

Additional Requirements

 

Maintain personal responsibility for collection, recording, evaluation, information sharing, review, retention and disposal of information in compliance with codes of practice and Guidance in the Management of Information, Information Security Policy, procedures and legislation.

 

The role holder should be aware that the work is predominantly at weekends.

 

The role entails an element of manual handling, e.g. lifting and positioning beer barrels.

Essential Qualifications

 

Educated to Educated to QCF Level 5 OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

 

Personal Licence holder

 

SIA Door Person certificate

 

Hygiene Certificate.

Essential Experience

 

Signiificant experience in a public house, hotel or allied industry, to include at least 1 year as the main licence holder.

 

Experience of hygiene regulations.

 

Budgetary planning and cash handling experience.

 

To be accustomed to working unsupervised.

 

Supervisory experience.
