An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Technical Capital Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing capital accounting activities within our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee capital accounting activities.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of capital expenditure and lead on capital reporting within the statutory accounts.

Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Provide expert advice on capital accounting matters.

Manage the treasury management function and all investment/borrowing requirements for the force, ensuring a direct correlation between cash resources and the capital programme.

Ensure compliance with both internal financial regulations and CIPFA treasury guidance.
Qualifications and Experience:

CCAB qualified accountant.

At least 2-3 years of demonstrable capital accounting experience.

Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience.

Ideally, 3-5 years of experience working in an accounting environment within a medium to large public sector organization.
Skills and Attributes:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Essex Police offer agile working which allows some flexibility in terms of work arrangements. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend the contractual workplace, as agreed with the line manager.

Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £59,634.00.
