As an investigator on Major Crime you will play a vital role on some of the Constabulary's most significant investigations.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, dedicated and tenacious investigator who works well in a small team environment with the flexibility to work long hours, sometimes at short notice. Although you will be based in Basingstoke you may occasionally find yourself working across all areas of Hampshire to support homicides and major investigations and on the rare occasions out of county.
You should be keen to develop new skills and to learn how to use HOLMES which will enable you to manage your part in the large scale murder investigations.
Within each investigation you will be allocated various actions and roles which could include Exhibits Officer, Disclosure Officer, or Interviewing officer. As you progress training for other roles will be fully encouraged including PIP2 pathway options.

Competent Investigator PIP1 (Successful completion of applicable entry training and undertake training to achieve Professionalising Investigation Programme (PIP) level 1 accreditation).
Demonstrable experience of complex information gathering and problem solving.
A detailed understanding of the criminal justice system.
