The Business Support Team who support the Crime & Intelligence, Forensic Investigation Unit, Public Protection & Safeguarding and Criminal Justice & Custody Senior Management Teams are looking for two people to come and support our commendation ceremonies throughout 2025.
We are a lovely bunch of people and would just love someone to come and help organise the day and be there for the event where we thank our amazing officers and staff for their exceptional work. It’s a very positive event and supports our Valuing our People strand on our Strategic Plan. You will get to see and hear all of the amazing work people have done along with their families and friends while helping us with the event planning aspects.
If you feel this is something for you, please get in touch we would love to hear from you. Duties would include framing up certificates, helping organise them and support some additional administrative tasks in prepping for the events. The day of the event will be meeting and greeting the commendation recipients and their families, getting forms signed and showing them where they need to go.

As a volunteer within the police service, you will be subjected to a level of police vetting. The level will be dependent upon the role and it’s access requirements. With the higher levels of vetting, applicants could be asked to provide details of family members, partner, partner’s parents and co-residents, as well as additional information regarding their own personal circumstances. This process is required to ensure that Thames Valley Police comply with the legislation of the Vetting Code of Practice
Whilst we endeavour to complete all vetting within 30 working days of receipt of vetting forms, unfortunately this is not always the case due to operational demand and back-logs, and could take considerably longer.
