Job description

We look forward to reading your application for the role of Senior Administrator.

This post is within the Exams Administration team who are responsible for supporting Forces and their candidates through the online exams offered by the College of Policing. 
We deal with approximately 24,000 candidate per year across all of our exams and manage two functional mailboxes dealing with candidate and force enquiries for enrolment on the exams, validity, exam & results day queries and reasonable adjustments. 
There may be a requirement to cover tasks outside of the Exams Admin Team in the wider Business Services and Operations teams.

The selected candidate will provide professional senior administrative support within the Operations and Business Services Teams, where you will be responsible for a range of office administration tasks. You should have experience of improving new procedures and delivering at pace. The role requires the Senior Administrator to communicate effectively with customers.

•    Share knowledge and good practice - We create and maintain easy access to knowledge, disseminate good practice, and facilitate the sharing of what works.
•    Set standards - We set standards for key areas of policing which help forces and individuals provide consistency and better service for the public.
•    Support professional development - We set requirements, accredit, quality assure and deliver learning and professional development, promote diversity and wellbeing, and help to nurture and select leaders at all levels.

Person specification

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • May need to provide line management supervision and direction to a team of administrators, ensuring consistency and high standards in service provision.
  • Providing a full administrative service, developing, maintaining and updating office systems to ensure appropriate and efficient monitoring, tracking and retrieval of records.
  • Developing and maintaining good internal/external stakeholder relations, ensuring all interactions are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.

 To be successful in this role you’ll need: 

  • Previous administrative experience with demonstrable organisational ability and attention to detail.
  • Clearly demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience of scheduling meetings or events, preparing agendas and documentation, could be asked to take and draft accurate minutes.

 All applicants must hold:

  • A Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-levels, NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or similar) or extensive equivalent level experience in a related area
  • GCSE Passes in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications
