You can apply whilst waiting to complete your degree, you must have your final result before we can make you an offer of employment on our August 2025 course.

So how does it work? This training will include sessions on personal safety training, ICT and systems training, CSI sessions, statement writing etc.

Once you have completed your training you will be placed onto an operational policing team with a Tutor Constable where you will be required to demonstrate competence in the police constable role and record your evidence in an operational competence portfolio (OCP). You will be with your tutor for up to 12 weeks after which you will be given independent patrol status and expected to continue to demonstrate competence as police constable during your remaining probationary period.

You will then deploy into your specified division and station for a period of around 4 weeks. Finally, a short period of training will commence before being permanently located with your new team out in division.
