HP - Humberside Police - PCEP Uniform - January 2025
Humberside Police – PCEP (Police Constable Entry Programme)
Policing is a job like no other – it’s a highly rewarding role that’s varied, it’s exciting but challenging. Becoming a police officer gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the community. You’ll aid in reducing crime and provide a reassuring presence, whilst making life safer and happier for the people you serve.
When you join Humberside Police, you’ll develop both personally as well as professionally. Through the Police Constable Entry Programme and the bespoke training you receive at Courtland Road (Humberside Training Centre) and on the job, you’ll gain skills for life that will serve you well as your policing career progresses.
What you need to know…
Undertake the PCEP training to ensure you have the skills and experience to become a Police Constable with Humberside Police.
This programme is designed for applicants who hold a minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent (See Qualification Criteria).
You will be a Student Officer from day one, earning whilst you learn, and will spend two years following a structured work-based training programme that integrates your training and the achievement of Operational Competence on the job. You’ll cover all required Police Constable learning. This will be fully supported by our experienced in-house training team.
- You will receive excellent operational training required to become a Police Constable, and you will attend our training centre on Courtland Road for your Initial training period. Although unaccredited, you will be learning at a Level 5 to become compliant and effective in the role of a Police Constable.
- After initial training you will be allocated a dedicated force tutor officer and receive bespoke individual support. Your tutor will fully support you in putting what you learn in the classroom into practice on the job as a Police Constable.
- You will have access to a dedicated assessment team to support you in achieving full operational competence.
The training is a blend of classroom and practical on-the-job learning. You will undergo police training to prepare you for your operational role whilst required educational modules will be integrated into the initial programme and post tutor phase.
