Crime Recording and Occurrence Management Officer
Are you passionate about ensuring data integrity and supporting the vital work of the police? North Yorkshire Police is looking for a dedicated Crime Recording and Occurrence Management Officer (CROMU Officer) to join our team. This crucial role supports the accurate recording and management of crime and non-crime incidents, ensuring compliance with national standards and helping deliver justice for victims.Key Responsibilities:
Crime Recording: Review reports and make decisions in line with National Crime Recording Standards (NCRS), ensuring all crime data is recorded with accuracy.
Incident Management: Update and manage records related to crime, non-crime occurrences, road traffic collisions, and domestic violence, applying the appropriate outcomes.
Risk Assessment: Use the THRIVE+ framework to assess risk and reopen cases where needed, ensuring any safeguarding requirements are met. Internal Support: Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders on crime recording and management, supporting them in meeting NCRS and NSIR standards.
Data Quality: Ensure all data entered is accurate and compliant with the Management of Police Information (MOPI) standards.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other IT systems.
Ability to work both independently and within a team under pressure.
High level of attention to detail, with experience in prioritizing and managing workloads.
Ability to make critical decisions based on business needs.
